about

This song means a lot to me. I wrote it during a painful anniversary, stemming from a breakup that really made me question myself, my sanity, my experience with it, and my own self worth. I still struggle with it, but I am a lot better now!

This song (and all the others I wrote in the last 2 years) have been extremely therapeutic in helping me re-realize my self worth and unpacking my attachment styles. I know better now. I love better now. Also accountability matters. You deserve to be with others, in any form of relationship, who truly see you and value you and who will acknowledge their actions toward you. OWN YOUR STORIES. If they wanted you to write kindly about them, they woulda acted differently.

lyrics

Wondering if chains can
Really be broken when tethered to your mind
Those who left you behind
With unworthiness
I've got my stories
But you say "they bore me"
How am I to hold what you
Just want to disappear into

I hold, I fold, I pain
You run away
I gave, you take, someday
You'll get no more of me

You can't face me
Won't break the lie you see in me
Won't see, deny my truth
You
Blinded by, protected by your youth
All my pain could fill this room
Sorry
I forgot that's too real for you

You keep illusions around
So you won't have to see
You tearing me down
Tearing me down
Tearing me down
Tearing me down

Tearing me down
Tearing me down
